Where should you cast?
Its on. Just add water. Just hit the water. Get it in there. If the boat is drifting and your line is in the water, be ready. If this seems oversimplified, its because the fishing is pretty good right now. As good as it gets really. I mean how many fish do you need to catch?
The Upper Kenai is running around 5,000cfs and still clear, though it is picking up a little color with the salmon spawn /digging and fertilization underway. The Kings are spawning and while there are fewer than we would like to see, there are enough to put the trout and Dolly Varden on the savage egg bite.
Enough Fish
So in essence, Just Hit The Water. This is my favorite post of the year. It’s even a day or so early. It won’t be this good forever, but it will be pretty good for some time to come.
