Alaska Fly Fishing Guides Are Privileged

by Mysticfish on December 29, 2012

As Alaska Fly Fishing Guides, we are often privileged to fish with some great people. As 2012 draws to a close, I am reminded of one of our very special clients.  Meet Matt Ruck.

Ready for fly fishing

Safety First!

Matt often joins us several times during our Alaska Fishing season. He typically sets up some days with his work crew, when they are doing jobs in Alaska. They are usually doing jobs in Alaska during prime fishing months. Matt is a smart guy.

When the crew is on the loose, hi jinks ensue. Start times are adjusted. First Aid may be necessary. Housekeeping wears a gas mask. Heaven Hill runs low on Bourbon Reserves. Magpies need detox. The Dog requires therapy.

Boys will be boys!

Matt usually brings his boys up from Idaho in August. Its father and son time before school starts. Fishing is tempered with sling shot launches, moose nugget battles, lots of eating, spearing attempts, and fire.
Matt even brought his parents along once to fish with us, possibly to prove something.

A couple years ago, I posted about a trip that was so good; we had fish jumping in the boat. This was shorty after Matt had visited so he commented, “As always……I would like to book two yesterdays and one tomorrow.” This past September, Matt set up two days with his brother and managed to book a perfect yesterday and an epic tomorrow. He was right on time for prime fishing conditions and Matt and his brother were ready on time, when Stacy picked them up at the Alaskans.

Matt and his brother had a trip they will never forget.

Fish were landed in staggering numbers.

Nice King

Nice flesh fly Matt

Matt was a little late for King Salmon, but hey…there’s always next year!  I know Matt will be ready for whatever comes!

Hello Howard.  Thanks for stopping by.  My site has had some technical problems of late and I have been unable to post.  With Rebecca’s gracious help, it is working again.  I’ve still got some formatting problems, but at least I can post.  Happy New Year!
